The Stand started way back in 1931 when the roads in our neighborhoods were not paved and bread was 5 cents. Katherine Dlhy (known by many as Dodo) cooked in her home kitchen and served lunches in the front room of the main log cabin. She made her own pastries, pies and cakes. The employees at Gilbert & Bennett Wire mill were among the first regular customers. 

Improvements to the property followed by adding redwood log siding (shipped from California) and started building the original Heibeck's Stand. It was originally located 40 feet from the log cabin and then later moved and attached to the main building, as it stands today. 

The stand quickly became a locals favorite where it was and still is famous for it's hot dogs, burgers & ice cream. Today, it is still run by members of the Heibeck Family. Barbara Heibeck (Katherines granddaughter), Skylar Smith (Barbara's Son) & Rachel Smith (Skylars Wife) own & operate the business during the Summer months (Spring & Fall as well). They have kept parts of the traditional menu but it has expanded to include modern items like homemade falafel & fresh Maine lobster rolls (Award Winning).
